joss moog drops his 1st solo ep on minority after having successful previous outings on robsoul. fat mamma is a jacked up chicago track that will be doing the rounds with the likes of derrick carter & mark farina. rhodes trip is armed with deep chords and slick beats and is reminiscent of room 25. everything inside has all the right ingredients to kick start a party, tough beats, smooth vocal stabs and a killer bass line. joss finishes the ep off in style with a big jazz bass line, groovy keys and a hypnotic sax that would work the dance floor at any time of the night.

scandanavian pair holmar filipsson and klas-henrik lindblad aka sasse are busy people. what with running their collective labels moodmusic, crack & speed, thugfucker recordings, and a gallon of original releases they have somehow managed to find time to hook up to produce a cracker of an album. the pair share a love for disco and deep house music and this is very apparent in the music they come together to create. this ep features three choice cuts from their upcoming album æa splendor in the grassÆ.
development music is back with release number two, an ep featuring vocals from croatian sensation yannah valdevit (eddie meets yannah - compost/sonar kollektiv) and an eclectic package of productions & remixes from two of the uk s hottest production talents: deep house maestro atjazz and broken beat innovator domu.
>who is the person you would most like to work with?< for claude vonstroke, its definitely bootsy collins - the biggest personality in parliament funkadelic and funniest character the funk world has ever seen. we couldn’t be any more excited to have bootsy on dirtybird and this crazy collaboration of styles is the lead single on claude vonstroke’s 2nd album, “bird brain.” if you haven’t heard of bootsy we couldn’t write it better than rolling stone… “bootsy collins’ rubber band was the most entertaining and longest-running spin-off of george clinton’s eternal p-funk circus, and that’s because bootsy is a true star, the clown prince of comic, psychedelic, good-times funk – if he weren’t such a genius of the bass, you’d think he was jimmie walker in a sequined costume, star-shaped mirrored shades included. his career is like a horatio alger story based in chocolate city: plucked from teenage obscurity in 1969 to play with james brown, the former william collins of cincinnati brought a slap-happy zest to jb’s sound, then hooked up with clinton and was reborn in his image, with a little help from lsd.” it is certain that claude vonstroke is not nearly as accomplished as bootsy collins, but he takes the same tongue-in-cheek approach to his music and that’s why this collaboration really works. both claude and bootsy believe you got to get up for the down stroke and there’s no way to fake the funk or your nose will grow, pinocchio!
supported by: dubfire, luciano, anja schneider, nick curly, mathias tanzman... the hidden artists behind the nick of clarissa are matteo spedicati and andrea ferlin and eriko tanabe is titbit co-owner davide squillace... big summer hit played in all set by davide squillace
the eps title track baltic pine bounces an elastic bass with a punch whilst its magical melody evolves out of the groove, taking you skipping away until it breaks into a ebullient cacophony of accordion, piano and brass.

4 track ep with finest house & electronic music with fresh sounds and dirty beats! hernan cataneo, ricky stone, paco buggin,... john gham aka juan pablo hougham who is resident in the club velvet in madrid , presents his new ep whiplash on peon music. whiplash is a hammer ep which is very much technoid and presents the whole production spectrum of juan pablo hougham. on side a are two real techno tracks for the peaktime in the club and one does not know which track presses more. the b side is a little bit more relaxed, but although technoid in which elegance stings very much out.
its been a while since the last rsb release, but then tracks like this dont come along every day! for their first vinyl appearance on a label other than their own, enigmatic german duo ancient methods do the honourable thing and break out the whip, a track that comes across like a 2-step party in the foundry of thor himself. lets lazily label it anvil techno, because as far as we are aware no has yet invented a genre that adequately desribes music such as this. and as we have come to expect, much the same can be said of the evil sickness that is eat like hawks by bjorn svin (with a little help from karsten pflum, jona olesen & copyflex!). it starts like it means to go on, with a gnarled loop and indecipherable distorted vocals, and is gradually tweaked and augmented to the point of destruction. all manner of ill bass, overdriven filters, zaps, clanky drums & feedback join the party before the whole affair is brought to an abrupt end by the strange foreign lady that we have come to know and love over the course of the track. truly music for small, sweaty, strobe-driven cellars.
marco petralia: his sound is deep, dirty and twisted – his dj sets are energetic and impulsive! as bigcitybeats resident he played already side by side with international dj stars like george morel, roger sanchez, steve angello or mark knight and further is responsible for mixing the very popular bigcitybeats compilations which hit the top ten of the german compilations charts each time they are released. marco can refer to a row of successful releases on labels like open bar music, miss moneypennys and of course bigcitybeats. the baggi begovic remix of his last single >getting deep< got massive support from roger sanchez! without exaggeration you can call >breaking all the rules< marcos best release so far featuring stunning vocals by the young and beautiful us singer taleen marie and a bunch of rocking remixes from superstar d.o.n.s, uprising newcomer cold n what, abel riballo & dj kds and robert heart & christian gimbel.
since 2002, dj and producer kook and brazilian singer roxxy bione are now a duo. without a doubt, they are typical dirty and danceable berlin electro and rock n roll. important to them: no run of the mill concert atmosphere. they prefer people to dance and freak out, not just swaying to the music. kook feat. roxxy bione don t hide behind a laptop, but submit microphone stands and stage floor to grueling tests. the musics charm is a result of glamorous pop, rockin electro sounds and groovy dance – often crowned with driving singing. >phantom hitchhiker< is the first evidence of this danceable dangerous romance called kook & roxxy.
moleculez returns to meta4 ready to clear dancefloors with some of his most destructive material to date. you know you are dealing with some serious dance music when none of the tracks on a release have vocal samples. the opening track, future in progress, is blessed with a wonderfully deep kickdrum that would probably even sound good at plus20, although we havent tried that yet. out of a nowhere the track suddenly seems to have stopped when an eerie melody creeps out of the dark. this sets the tone for the rest of the release: dark, driving and threatening. gargoyle is the most driving. lava bomb the eeriest: and future in progress the most threatening. thats what we think, anyway. you decide. the last two tracks on this release are probotector and the haunted. the first is actual textbook honest to goodness industrial hardcore while the latter isnt really anything we can talk about here. highly recommended because we want to sell records
quince is here with a follow-up to his previous music man outings, and it s a true dancefloor bomb concerning >wires<, think carl craig, massive break, roaring bassline, hands in the air, and you re almost there!!!
everyone s favourite french mpc don fulgeance steps up for his one-handed music debut with a heavyweight set aimed squarely at the dancefloor! fresh from his success on musique large with his low club styles, fulgeance steps out of the beats scene to bring us the bangers. detroit electro wunderkind jimmy edgar is on remix duties with a mesmerising 4am stepper, deeply trippy and all the better for it.
determined to write a new chapter in nycs long history of dance music, marcos cabral and jacques renault (think dfa, rekids, im a cliche, wurst edits, chinatown, editions disco, rvng, trapez, and more) have decided to launch their own record label on the prowl. with a heavy nod to american classic house, techno, and disco, otp listeners should expect a variety of sound that will propel them to dance for years to come. the first otp instalment entitled the poltergeist throws a heavy blow of dark acid bass, todd terry-esque stabs, and proper dubbed out distortion for a feeling that will leave listeners floored... leaving even the most stubborn of listeners open for more. house music, raw and unrestricted. the b-side, not to be overshadowed, brings us dont block the box. an a-side in its own right, delivering us good old fashioned house music with hypnotically filtered samples and pulsing arms in the air swells of resonance.
hailing from adelaide, australia sonny foderas story is starting to gain momentum, having started producing music at a young age he has established himself as one of australias premier deep jackin house djs and producers, artist/remixer. having played along side the likes of chuck love, john larner, derrick carter, the littlemen, audio jack, james curd to name a few, sonny fodera is renowned for his consistently high quality dj sets. as a producer/remixer, sonny fodera continues to exploit his raw musical talents and ever expanding skills with this smokin new release on guest house!!!
temple of the sun is the fifth ep of the london based french producer harold boue. after his last track >chandler bing< has been charted by erol alkan and played by simian mobile disco, rex the dog (for bbc), mattie safer... abstraxion is creating here an universe of mixed up dark and brightness with warped-schizophrenic bassline. this ep reaches the diversity of abstraxions universe: from peaktime techno (b and s, temple of the sun), disco-balearic (slices), to beatless deep ambient (vampyros lesbos). abstraxion is composing an organic music, only with old analog synthesizers, in a gesture of unmitigated desire: a desire for the elementary beauty of techno.
stone cold classic funky disco floor filler thats stood the test of time. first time ever on 12inch!!! taken from the hard to find self titled lp by tommy stewart, bump & hustle music is the definitive disco funk party anthem. it was recorded in 1976 in atlanta, georgia, and since then the lp has found itself in the play boxes of soul, funk and jazz djs alike. however, its not until now that this amazing song has finally made it onto the preferred format of dance djs the world over û the 45rpm 12inch single. in 1976 tommy stewart was a busy man, working as an arranger, producer, performer and writer for a host of soul and rnb artists. the lp made for abraxas records was the first to go directly under his name, and although it failed to take off locally, the lp soon became known by djs across the world primarily for the club smash bump & hustle music. as it happens that song in particular almost didnt exist but for tommy needing to come up with something quick in order to fill in a gap in the album. conceived and recorded on the spur of the moment, and with backing vocals by isaac hayes singers hot buttered soul overdubbed later, its a superb example of rhythmic simplicity blended with soulful, catchy harmonies. its just impossible to listen to bump & hustle music without a broad smile coming to your face, and when played loud in a club, its impossible not to dance!
following in the shadow of the jisco music reedit series comes a new home for original music. under the shade hopes to promote new and old talent groomed from the disco underground. first up is new boy chambochÚ growing up sandwiched between the coast and the valleys of coastal mid wales, nature was sams first love. this taste for the epic, organic passages has been fused with pop sensibilities from an 80s childhood to shape a unique musical outlook. regular dj appearances at nottinghams stealth combined with residencies at some of the most forward thinking electronic nights in the midlands saw him develop his taste for the groove. the hooks of producers such as todd terje, toby tobias, lindstrom and ?me soon began to take hold and turn his hand towards crafting slower, more melodic grooves. after completing a series of tracks, which caught the attention of gerd janson and mark e and then road tested with success at londons seminal plastic people û chambochÚ was signed to under the shade with a string of releases in the pipeline. with additonal strong remixes by production team of the moment the revenge and pete herbert this already got huge support from tim sweeney, gerd janson ( running back ) or the horse meat disco crew

chris special is destined for big things in 2009.original mix might be the most catchy tune on noir music to date and the whole soundscape of this track oozes summer, ibiza and happy people. we are taking no prisoners on this oneàà the perfect mix between credible tech house and the more commercial and catchy melodies. this tune would work perfectly in every club around the globe and yesàà thats how good it is.
one of rising musics hotly anticipated releases of the summer is here! san francisco rain is a pure, timeless piece of house music. lush arrangement and incredible vocals take the original to another level. the track also received its worldwide debut on pete tongs essential selection 19th june. chris lake turns in one of his biggest remixes to date – taking the original by the horns and injecting a seriously heavy amount of tech!
heres the greatly expected album from edbangers wizard krazy baldhead. in 2009, krazy baldhead gives us his first album, >the b-suite<, four movements and 49minutes of music. we find tes again on a track, and outlines on the single >sweet night<. more than ever, krazy baldhead proves that ed banger records isnt only the label of a sound, butwell and truly the label of an era, is it an electro album? a hip hop album? up to you to estimate.
this time the machine calls upon detroit hero gary martin (aka gi gi galaxy) to do the business. garys clean production style and attention to simple rhythms have defined who he is. this definition is reworked and slanted by the talents of andy garcia on the remix, so as usual, cryovacs components work together to exist, so that our music may evolve.
nice price deal !!! due to heavy demand we are releasing a limited 10inch of the martyns >electric purring< and the all night long version of sideshows >television< feat. cortney tidwell. >aus music…all night long< as a title is not just a play on the timeless house music all night long phrase, it also expresses the musical diversity of the label. from the live dub of sideshow through to the layered, undulating techno of sian via the heartwarming, richly textured grooves of lee jones our aim has always been that you can play aus music from dusk till dawn… all night long
the make up the break up is the first release on bruno pronsatos own thesongsays label. its the longest track in his catalog (38 minutes), and an even deeper excursion into his stylized harmony. this track was originally a track uncompleted while making, æwhy cant we be like us. revisiting it roughly a year ago, bruno began to reword it. what began as simple attempt to create an ep track out of it became a monster. what monster you ask? in a few words, the monster that is brunos love of musicality and sound design. muscially speaking, we are on a ride somewhere between a slithery house track and a drugged out night out in chelsea, new york in the 60s - and thats a good thing because we get the entirety of the ride: the ups, the downs, the clouded mentality, the broken heart and perhaps the mended one. its happy, its sad - its something that you can dance to, but most importantly, its music that we think you can revisit for many years, as it somehow reflects us, our lives. a playful and extended journey through love and disaster, or at least the soundtrack to it.
incl. dj preach, talla 2xlc and nitrous oxide mixes! the washington-based dj and producer-duo majai was one of the shooting-stars in trance-scene in 2008 with their massively played track phoria. in 2004 majai mark kruger and anna sennikova published their first track change my mind. in 2007 they had their breakthrough with lightwave, a radio-charthit and favoured track by big names in trance.
supported by: richie hawtin, dubfire, gabriel ananda, alexi delano, livio & roby ...
plaupez >l ame d un singe< is the 1st release from alma soul music. this ep has a mixture of music styles wich include deep, tech & minimal house. plaupez original mix is certainly a good example of the genre variety, its house base blends into a tech atmosphere with a futurist melody. jon gurd s version is ideal for a late night mainfloor, with powerful basses and energic percussions. vasco inspirian offers his particular sound wich has a very noticing detroit influence and licuadora system s remix minimalizes the track with his frenetic minimal- house version. all four tracks are composed by very talented artists and the result is ready to rock any dance floor!
